Made an account just to defend one of my favourite movies.

It's because he says anything just to contradict her. Whether he agrees or not, his only motivation is to upset her. It is entirely out of character but that's point - he doesn't care.

I also like the way it shows her as (in their opinion) less than perfect. She criticises him for being a dick but she's just as judgmental (I love it obviously but I think that's what they're going for). Kevin is a product/reflection of her and that's what terrifies her.

I think everyone pretty much covered the deep conversation part of this... I'm just here to say that this is my favorite movie

Fuck it was good

Could I ask why it's your favorite? I saw it recently and couldn't really decide if I enjoyed it. It certainly was thought provoking.

The dynamic between Kevin and his mother was really interesting to me. They were both really deep characters. And the ending...fuck DAT ending

read the book. The book is amazing, thought provoking, and has a way better twist. Also, this little line of fat shaming / make the mom look bad never happens in the book. 100% a director choice

Maybe he wants to see those lardbeasts stuff themselves to misery and/or death. Or he could be a digusting sub human himself who fetishizes those whales.

Nah. The movie makes him out to be a complete monster (except at the very end) who just enjoys making his mom's life miserable. For the evulz.
