The real place to look is at how many ethnic Germans are being born vs babies born to foreign parents that tells the future of the country. My guess is it's even worse than 1 and 5 already.

A new microcensus shows that more than one-fifth of all Germans have some sort of 'immigrant background' - a record high for the Bundesrepublik.

The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) reported on Friday that 17.1 million people out of a population of 81.4 million last year had some kind of immigration background.

It makes quite a difference, in my perspective at least, if we're dealing with European(-descended), or non-European immigrants.

Most immigrants in Germany - at least before the flood of last year - come from Turkey.

European immigrants are of course much better than non-European but my opinion is that also the European ones should be kept to a minimum. I think it's the best way to preserve the national culture of a country.
