I think Digital Homicide has decided they are done with that name and making crappy $0.99 games and is trying to get some money via sue them all at this point.
Nope in fact the case against Stirling they tried to crowdfund the legal expenses but stopped as people were "donating" amounts picked as the fee associated with it would result in a negative amount.

Valve can afford a lot more lawyers than they can.
