The person in the video was already restrained by the police before they put him in the body bag. The question is, which is the better option a body bag or restraints in a gurney? Body bag looks outdated just like a straight jacket. Gurney is more common. Try to keep up.

Looked up some info about this. As usual, in the video, nobody sees what goes on before they put him in the bag.
According to a police spokeswoman, the bag is used on emotionally disturbed individuals (EDP) who could potentially cause harm to themselves or someone else, according to the New York Post.
'The bag is ventilated and they can breathe,' the spokeswoman added.

Great movie! If you've never seen it, make sure you watch the Director's Cut.

Seems like a really shitty way of dealing with someone. He's already down so why not call an ambulance and then the medics can sedate him. Put him on a gurney and take him away.

Who's going to pay for all that? While it might seem shitty, its a simple and effective way of dealing with strung out nut-jobs that are likely to hurt themselves or officers.

You're main concern is cost? You do realize there are a bunch of overpaid cops shuffling a body bag with a live person inside. Costs are up the ass already.
Let me tell you being inside a body bag must be one of the most infuriating, frustrating, and anxiety inducing situations imaginable. It's no wonder it doesn't occur often. Hence the outrage.
