I used to be a big apple supporter. But the company is rapidly declining. All my stuff that used to work flawlessly is now buggy and slow. I cringe a little every time I run an update. iTunes for example just doesn't work anymore on any platform. And don't get me started on how much I hate the stupid watch. Glad I never fell for buying it.

It's okay to be loyal to a company or product. But when they want you to jump off a cliff..... That's drinking the kool-aid

They've been flip-flopping that is removing it from some devices but later just adding it in on a later models, like the Moto Z Force didn't have one but they added it back in on the Moto Z Play.

Personally I don't see it as being a big deal since I never listen to music anyway but it's still as annoying as fuck. Just another thing to have to think about when getting a new phone when your contract runs out, really.

This is my last contract phone. I'm going to plop the money down for my phone and I'm going to switch to ting since it will use the same network where I live and will be $60 cheaper a month

What gave you that idea? Also, android is an operating system. It supports phones built by more than 100 companies. IOS is also an operating system, unlike android, however, it is proprietary, and owned by apple, as such, it only supports apple's phones, all of which will (supposedly) lack 3.5mm headphone jacks from now on. On what basis do you think the many MANY companies making android phones will all stop adding this essential port, all at once? Heck, a good number of modern android phones are still on microB instead of usb 3c, It will still be a while until 3.5mm is deprecated, even on phones.

You haven't heard anything bc no one gave a shit bc they avoided it possibly? Comparing ONE of Motorola models amongst all the other androids available with apples iPhone is kinda silly. You can argue this point when half of androids pull this shit.

You think this is the reason apple did this and not to force you to spend an outrageous amount of $$$ on proprietary garbage? You really think apple gives a shit about you listening to an encrypted britney spears?

never attribute to corporate greed that which can be attributed to nefarious intent.

They include the analog escape hatch right in the box. It's not going anywhere. Remember, Apple was the one who pushed back against RIAA encryption crap in the first place, give them some credit.

(edit: actually, re-reading your post I'm not sure we disagree O:-) Yeah, you'll always be able to snip the earbud/speaker connectors and wire them back to an AUX input, it's so simple it's really not something anyone can lock down.)
