Well, it is hardly possible to check if a link is a "malicious" one.

Obvious solution would be to simply show the URI to the user as part of an error message along the lines of "You do not have the key required to play this file in your local storage, inquire with <Publisher> or visit <URI> if you want to obtain it!".

Or even better, do not support "Digital Rights-Management" in your products at all.
