This has nothing to do with atheism.

It isn't a choice but nor is it healthy. It is a misdirection of the breeding impulse. That's a sort of birth defect which, if widespread enough, would cause serious problems for any species. I feel like denying this only hurts the credibility of people pushing for gay rights.

You could say the same thing about masturbation.

I very much believe that people are born sexually agnostic (more or less) and that they eventually fall into specific sexual roles. Being gay is OK with me, not that any gay person needed my validation.

With that said, I also believe that "born gay" is just cover-fire / rationalizing a persons sexual orientation and that there is only a preoccupation with such a notion because, in the society that exist today, there is a stigma.

These are my musings based on what I believe what level of behavior DNA is capable of pre-programming. I very well could be wrong.

I think people sometimes misunderstand the statement of choice. To some people, the choice means your personal attractions and romantic capacity. To other people it means your literal actions. People as a general rule cannot choose who they are attracted to (not in overt ways, typically, but they can open their mind to new experiences and find certain types of people attractive they might not have found attractive before), however they can choose to act in homosexual partnerships and have homosexual intercourse.

You don't know what gays have to do with atheism?

That's right. I'm asking why a topic about gay marriage is on the atheist forum.

I think people are born to seek companionship. I think most people seek out the companionship that appeals to them. I liked large breasted women, was I born that way I got know fucking idea, but I ended up marrying a large breasted woman, actually I did it twice. I dated small breasted women but I ultimately I sought out the lager ones. I can't imagine someone telling me I should be with a small breasted and that I have a choice. Of course I have a choice and I choose large breasted women. Were I gay I suppose it would be a big dick. You like what you like. What does all of this mean to you? Nothing because it makes no difference in your life and you really should living your own life.

I'm not taking sides here, but her sign doesn't make sense? Have you ever heard anyone say "Being gay is a choice, so we shouldn't allow gay marriage"? Usually they're opposed to gay marriage because "it's against their religion", "sanctity of marriage", "unnatural", etc.

Am I the only one to notice this issue with her sign?

Yes, I have. Many, many, many times, in fact.

I see. That's kind of a non-sequitur. "Dating blondes is a choice, therefore marrying blondes should be banned"
