It's strongly correlated with a host of other mental disorders as well as a shorter life expectancy (and no, it's not due to "discrimination"). It's not a condition which should be celebrated, it should be pitied.

Lesbian parents who dress their infant sons in pink dresses and take them to explicit gay pride parades long before they have a chance to forge their own identity shouldn't be making the front page of the huffington post, they should be investigated by child protective services for setting their child up for a lifetime of struggle.

The term you are looking for is minority stress. That's one of the reasons that LGBT people (as well as other groups subject to discrimination) do have more negative health outcomes. There is a wealth of excellent literature describing the impact of minority stress on health outcomes. Though you are partly correct in that this isn't the only reason that there is greater morbidity and mortality in the LGBT communities. There are other reasons as well.

LGBT people are less likely to be insured because of marriage exclusions (and the fact that in the US in many cases still despite the ACA, whether or not one has insurance depends on whether you are legally married). We also know that uninsured people have worse health outcomes.

LGBT people were the subject of intense marketing campaigns by alcohol and tobacco companies - and at the time, we took those ads in our magazines and we took the money to sponsor our events because JC Penny wasn't offering.

Men who have sex with men are at much greater risk for HIV which carries significant health consequences. And the epidemic was allowed to turn into a raging forest fire nearly impossible to control because initially the government did nothing... because it was mostly gay men who were dying. If you'd like a great description of that read Randy Shilts' And the Band Played On.

LGBT people are also disproportionately vulnerable to interpersonal violence.

And those are just some of the more obvious influences.

Lesbian parents who dress their infant sons in pink dresses and take them to explicit gay pride parades long before they have a chance to forge their own identity

How your parents dress you doesn't influence your sexual orientation... I was dressed in a completely gender normative way and despite that I'm queer as a three dollar bill. Moreover the vast vast vast majority of LGBT people were dressed by their parents in a gender normative fashion. In fact many were punished for any non-gender normative clothing or activities.

So you're playing the discrimination card? If you're going to chalk up all of the rampant drug use, bipolar disorder, and higher promiscuity (and disease susceptibility) to sociological factors, why don't Mormons or other polygamists around the world experience this "minority stress"?

Evidence? I thought that all of those claims were on very shaky ground to begin with, and they've been debunked to Hell and back. Even if that were true, it's not immoral to be mentally ill, and it's not immoral to have a shorter life expectancy.
