Wow! This is the best news of the year! It was crazy to hope but I was really hoping this would happen. Landing on a comet, getting beat up, rebooting. Amazing.

IKR. It's the little lander that could.

Entirely agreed. Was worried the little bugger flew off the surface entirely after they couldn't find it anymore. Really good stuff. Also glad to see this on the voat front page :D Seems appropriate.

Yeah, I've been waiting for a couple months going this would happen. Let's see what it can do now.

As for it betting on the front page here, let's see what it can do now. I hope the science and technology community is going to be strong here.

It's truly a "wow, we live in the future" kinda moment. :)

I love that it's programmed to the point where we say 'It woke up'. And it really did in a sense.

This is excellent. Weird how news about a piece of tech sitting on a frozen rock in outer space can make me happy. I'm genuinely happy that it woke up, and I really hope they manage to get some great data from it.

The pic of the lander waking up is pretty cool too

I've never heard of this space mission but whatever data it sends back better skyrocket technological advancement for something useful...like VR Porn or shareable flesh lights.

Natch. The prime directive of any space exploration is the groping of alien women and money shots in zero gravity under a double moon. They didn't send Kirk to outsmart the galaxy, they sent him out there to fuck it.

Fuck yeah! I legitimately did not expect it to wake up again. This is great.

I know! It made my week, hell maybe even my month. I was crushed when it was forced to power down. I really didn't think they'd ever get it going again. I can hardly wait to see what they find!

Damn 2015 is starting to get interesting Astronomy wise! New Horizons, Dawn, Rosetta. So much to look forward to and be excited about!

This is great, philae still has some science to do! Now if only they can get it right side up and maybe now at the base of the cliff, cast in shadow most of the time. If I remember, they tried to do that before it went offline and were unsuccessful...

This is really incredible news and I think, a very good lesson in patience.

Since November? What a crazy set of circumstances life has been for this little lander.

I had almost lost hope about it since I hadn't heard anything in such a long time. Really glad to hear the good news now! Hope they will be able to gather all the data they want now when lil Philae is alive and kickin'!
