I know it's not Arch, but do you know about Crouton? Click me

Yeah, if worst comes to worst I'll do that in the time being, but I really prefer Arch.

Thanks, but I'm trying to remove the hardware write-protect. I'm sure I'll figure it out when I look at it again tonight. Once I figure it out I plan on posting a tutorial on here and /v/linux since this turned out to be such a pain I may be able to help someone else.

https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv7/samsung/samsung-chromebook#installation

I hope this helps, I've never messed with putting Linux on a chromebook. Arch tends to have the most comprehensive/awesome instructions around though, so if that site doesn't work, maybe check the Archwiki or ask on https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux stupid reddit not being dead yet

Thanks for the help! I'll look at it but my chromebook is intel and not arm so I'm not sure if that'll work. I'll also try the reddit sub out. The problem with chromebooks is that every single one is different so it's hard to make a tutorial for chromebooks in general.

Oh, didn't realise it was Intel. That should honestly make it easier. If you drop us an exact model number that would help.
