It's not true? It seems reasonable to me, and I know people who would apologize to their dog and they seem to have far better relationships with their dog than I ever have with a dog.

Dogs are capable of mistakes, and when they do something dumb, they get embarrassed. Dogs understand apologies if you did something dumb.

My dogs definitely know when something is an accident. They don't get scared; they just continue on with what they were doing. It's very obvious that they understand when something want intended and they don't get upset about it like humans do.

I taught my dog sorry, and I think he lays under me just so he can get bumped and then get pets.
