Ever thought of using a cloth teabag to brew coffee in a cooking pot? Or tying a bag out of a paper filter?

Check out the Aeropress. It's almost like a french press, but uses a filter. Lightweight, small, and makes delicious coffee

I use a percolator on most of my trips. Morning is usually coffee, but lunch/supper we usually have a lot of people looking for hot water to re hydrate the meals. Does double duty nicely.

All fancy and completely unnecessary. I pack a Ziploc of freshly ground coffee ... that's all that's required. I do a lot of solo canoe camping, so I try to keep it light, but I've never felt that i needed a brew system. Cowboy coffee works fine for me.

Pour grounds in 1L camp cup, add water and bring to a hard boil. Remove from heat and let settle for 5 mins, grounds will sink to the bottom. Pour and enjoy. Yes, you'll occasionally get some grounds in your cup, but it's camping.

Instant coffee tastes like the devil's asshole but it does what it needs to do: wake me up and get me going in the morning.

I pack a small percolator. Other stuff is packed inside when hiking in (save space). Other times I put in a bag of water inside the perk (just in case).

I'm a snob, I carry a hand grinder(porlex mini), and a cheapo press pot cup thingy. Good coffee is worth the weight.

I like Turkish coffee, myself. Tastes great, and it's easy to make when you're camping cause you just need to be able to boil water.

Heartily agree, though, if you like your coffee then it's worth a few ounces of weight. I can't stand instant. Just get a cheap single serving French press or something.

If you want to spend a bit of time the night before, though, you can empty out a few tea bags, refill them with grounds and ziplock them in your freezer until the morning. Throw them in warm water while you get breakfast going.

My roommate has this thing called a jet boil. That and a french press makes quality coffee really fast

Yes, french press. I wouldn't brew french press at home, but it is my favorite way to brew in the woods. The press is simple, light, and makes decent coffee.

Why are amazon links banned? search Snow Peak Men's Titanium Coffee Press on amazon. It looks like the one i have. But, mine isn't TI.
