We'll see how it goes, it is all about getting enough people that the growing accelerates. Reddit is no longer trusted, and so people will slowly make it over here.

Plus, the more users there are in the early stages, the more people will complain about features Atko is working on being unavailable right now.

For now, a smallish community is good because it means Atko can have much more time with less pressure to get things running the way he wants.

See, thats part of my worry, not in a hipster way. I want this site to grow, I just don't want to attract the wrong crowds. Of course that will happen eventually, but maybe there can be a program in place to stop firms or groups from having so many accounts and upvoting so they can upvote or would that already be a possible beginning to an end?

I'm gonna slowly shift into whoaverse, not switch automatically. If reddit finally gets its shit together, I might stay, but things are looking bleak.

I wish there was a way to transfer your karma/points.

I feel quite the opposite. This is an ideal opportunity for a fresh, unburdened and completely unbiased start!

I agree. A different username and the proverbial clean slate.

Besides the points don't do anything. Well not much, seeing as you need 100 points to unlock downvoting.

(people complain about it, but it will take less than a month for 99% of people to accumulate 100 points, and it will only get easier as the site grows, ensuring anyone who actually has any investment will be able to downvote.)

Anyhow, Reddit has gone long enough unchallenged, and has become dulled. We don't even need to surpass reddit, just be active enough to keep them on their toes and improving. As long as they realise they arn't the only game in town, they can't pull stuff like they have been over the last two weeks.

It is definitely not what it use to be. Most of the mods (with honest exeptions) are asholes and vividly exploit thier priviledges.

Am I missing something? I haven't seen a bunch of racists over here. Maybe you are visiting different subverses than I am.

Edit: At least no more racists than on any other web forum.

I don't really think reddit is gonna crash and burn. I do, however, think that I wanna watch this grow, see how it turns out.

Here's hopin'

I find that reddit users are particularly nasty with their comments. Is this something reddit users are known for? I am new to reddit and I don't know that much about it or the history of user-complaints involved. What do most people find negative and non-user friendly about the site? very curious..
