While these exposures are good, the irony here is that Republicans oppose regulations that would stop these things.

If we oppose what the Democrats did here, we also need to oppose the Republican deregulation of the campaign funding area. That includes overturning the Citizens United case. :)

Donald Trump has previously spoken out about campaign corruption. He needs to keep this as a major point in his campaign.

It's all one shit show. Both parties are the same, just with different rhetoric.

Are you suggesting that all of this is on the UP-and-UP? Is all of this legal currently?

My political beliefs are closest to what is called a "South Park Republican." In other words, I believe that both major parties are terrible, just the the donkeys are a little more terrible than the elephants. In fact, I kind of hope that wikileaks has just-as-damning information on the Republican party, and that we could all watch both major parties burn.

However, I believe from the recent leaks that Hillary's campaign broke current fundraising laws. If her campaign did in fact break fundraising laws, how will more laws change anything? Do you believe that someone who is willing to break one law wouldn't be willing to break multiple laws?

We agree on the problem, I just fail to see how your solution will help things.

I did not propose any solution. I merely suggested that Donald Trump would be a preferable candidate overall if he continues to oppose unlimited campaign funding.

If her campaign did in fact break fundraising laws, how will more laws change anything?

Sure, laws can be broken. People are not always held accountable for breaking laws either. These are basic facts of life.

But avoiding or removing laws is no answer.

Ask GWB. His people worked very hard to get laws against spying and torture repealed, even though these things were going on beforehand. Removing the laws mattered to them, and it should matter to us.

As for campaign funding laws, this is a particularly difficult area.

But we can reduce the corruption effect with laws and enforcement. If this were not true, we would not have people like Citizens United pushing to remove laws. We would not have Governor Scott Walker and his friends at the Wisconsin Supreme Court attempting to overturn laws in the "John Doe" case.

Two words: laws matter. :)

The best part of these leaks is I just wait a few days and then all the best ones surface to the top. Its like I know Christmas is coming and its only a few days away. Fuck this is better than Christmas.
