I do wonder how much money the game actually makes, since you can VERY easily play it without microtransactions (meaning you are probably more the product that the customer-I bet they'll let businesses pay to become pokestops). The insane amount of hype it got certainly made it stand out, though. Baby boomers who stuck to flip phones know all about the game, and >50% of the people I know my age who don't have it either live in a region where it has yet to release, or have a phone issue that they're really upset with.

I think I've read they're already looking at sponsored pokestops, I've played it a few times, and to be honest I don't think it's that great.
If you want an outdoor game to play, geocaching is much better.
