They also have fewer homicides over all, like Texas and states with open carry laws. I've heard this but does anyone have a link? The police killings reference might be true but does not represent the overall state of gun use in crimes, or general homicide rates.

This author needs to study the math behind the logic. I makes no sense whatsoever.. It's like the Russian of old. They'd report that the Russians came in second and the USA came in next to last in a 2 Man race. USA was 1st Russia was second.

Correlation does not imply causation. Many people involved in these killings are unable to legally buy a gun in the first place. The US police practice poor gun safety. They use lethal force because they know there are little to know consequences. They should not be taking out guns and killing people in cold blood. They really should not have guns ready at all times. One person should not be judge jury and executioner because they have taken a 6 week physical training, and 6 weeks of on the job training police cadet program.
