It's a conspiracy to control public emotions. The 90s had too much angst, rebellious, and angry music. They needed to redirect our focus on partying, everything is awesome, and happy compliance.
That and increase suicidal/murderous rage with dubstep.

I'm not sure if I know what you're talking about, but I would much prefer videos without any music at all. If the content of your video is you talking, a generic royalty free background music doesn't add anything to it.

Yes, that twee-sounding ukulele especially. It's juvenile and I HATE IT!

Yes absolutely. I have zero music on my phone that's "happy and shit". Even if there is a short part that gets uplifting I'll eventually get rid of it because vomit.
If you like the sound of something like this I can give you some recommendations: m.youtube.com/watch?v=BzuPI7tk9B8

Yes, unless it's CaramellDansen.
Dance on my balls,
Cat fucking a handbag,
Yours, only yours,
A walrus tickle dance band,
It's no lie,
Lisa in the crowd said:
Look Harry had a vagina malfunction!
are the best lyrics ever written.
