Video is notoriously difficult to index and search. Bearing that in mind, will your project feature any kind of automatic transcription or will the search be limited to metadata and keywords?

Automatic transcription is possible. Sources like YouTube and C-SPAN have already do work on this, so much of it can be leveraged. For the rest, I think both automatic and manual transcription is necessary. We also need a transcription verification scheme so that manipulation cannot happen without being noticed.

I've worked in IT for decades as a developer, dba, systems administrator, ... I can tell you right now what you're proposing would be an incredibly monumental task.
I do support your effort however and hope you can pull it off. Be prepared to deal with legal battles even though fair use allows you to use content for critique the big players don't give a flying fuck about your rights and can afford to bankrupt you before you make so much as a blip on their bottom line. Perhaps putting it on an onion site would be the way to go.

In addition to fair use protection, there are also first amendment press and speech freedoms. I don't anticipate there being any big issues with copyright, but I think the argument for the database is simple to make.

How prepared are you on receiving threats of actual violence against you?

How confident are you on protecting real identity?

I've already revealed my identity. Your first question is something I have been considering for awhile. I think that there is safety in numbers and that the idea itself is beyond reproach. Ultimately, I think it is just critical infrastructure that we need, but that we seemingly don't have...so I guess I'll just build it.

I find that very brave of you. I'll salute you for that.

I wish you the very best and will be watching the development of your groups' progress.

Thank you first of all. This is an idea I had years ago but never implemented it... Besides getting the infrastructure of it set up, I think having a crowd supported following of politicians would help. Have people go to everywhere they are, record everything, public and private, by any means. Public service should b public, no secrets. Hold them accountable to their words.

In my apartment, trying to work. Unfortunately, I live right below a family with a very young child that likes to run and jump on their floor at all hours of the day. The force is so great that it often rattles the light fixtures, in addition to being about 5x louder than the ambient noises and causing my entire apartment to shake. It is extremely disruptive to my work and sleep and is the primary reason that my output as been slowed so greatly recently. I have discussed this issue with them multiple times, but they do not feel there is a problem. :/

Duplicates should be logged and available. I want to organize all of the media into a timeline, so that you can just watch straight through. If there are multiple recordings, they should be time-synced and made available for anyone to watch.

I think that much of the database will need to be human-curated, at least for awhile. Having limited editing access (mods/admins) is probably the most practical way to start, but I would want to rapidly move to a system where anyone can contribute. Of course, that likely means solving spam issues.

Right now, myself and my wife. Though, there hasn't been much cost billed for this project, yet.

If we can score total un-true propositions vs total propositions, then yes :)
