Why not try to strike up a deal with archive.org instead? If all the footage and audio you have are public records then archive.org would be the best place for them.

I would totally be open to that. So far, I have not really discussed this project outside of my own friend-group.

I've had a similar idea. Though, my idea was more to hold politicians a countable for the promises they make during their campaigns. In order to do this I would need a collection of every thing that was said by all politicians for every election for every state and county, etc.

Another methodology for hosting content could be distributed content sharing, instead of centralized database. I know I'd be willing to host 100MB/1GB of data to ensure accountability. Of course editing/correcting things becomes a nightmare.

Yeah, editing/correcting is definitely an issue. Probably one of the biggest. If you know of a solid solution that would allow people to host storage for a project like this, I'd love to hear about it.
