Counting calories is hard for butter golems. They'd much rather just take a "magic" pill then bitch when it doesn't work. Sometimes they just declare they can't lose weight no matter what.

Money. CICO is simple, inexpensive, and no where near as profitable. Prettily packaged magic pills, wraps, juice cleanses, supplements, arm patches, conditions for which you need copious amounts of medication, equipment, and attention from various professionals etc. are very profitable AND people love to buy prettily packaged shit and believe in things. But the proof is in the pudding, of the few pigs I know, all of them try the latest craze and have medical problems and the normies and swolizens just keep counting calories.

It takes effort. You can't just casually count calories when you feel like it and know what's going on. You have to actually stick with it for more than 72 hours.

Because people aren't honest about what they eat.

I learned from a story that I saw here yesterday that they only count the calories. Once they reach their limit for the day they just keep eating and keep counting.
All diets work. Only people fail.

They also count calories like fucking retards.
This is from Facebook, I'd bet good money that "counting calories won't work" for this guy, considering that he has a full "cheat day" and that's part of a single meal.
His cheat day probably wiped out most if not all of his week's deficit.

Because they don't understand restraint, or planning, or balance, or goddamn portion sizes. Math isn't magical enough for them I guess.

The few stories I've read regarding fats and counting calories had the fats grossly underestimating the calories of food and extremely overestimating calories spent when working out. Oh, I walked up a flight of stairs at work today so I can have a little treat of a 12 pack of krispy kreme!
