That kids life is fucked forever.
It said in the posting there that when the kid isn't eating or sleeping, he's spending all his spare time in their little pool. It's likely because being the water he has some relief from his crushing weight.

The kid is definitely fucked forever but in his case, “forever” won’t be very long.

This is honestly one of the more disturbing things I've ever seen on here. WOW. He's FUCKING 10 YEARS OLD?!
[–] Carsandsarcasm 0 points 6 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago
That is heartbreaking. His life is over and he isn't even old enough to realise it yet. I'm disgusted that apparently this stage is the right one to think, "Hey, maybe we should have a think about this." The kid was enormous a long time ago. To let him grow to this size is just cruel. There is so much he will never know because his parents screwed him.
But the part that gets me most about this is the tone of the article. It is mildly opposed to what has happened, but mostly treating it as "oh, well, the parents wanted him to be healthy. That's understandable." If this was a starving child, there would be mug shots, accusations, disgust, no shortage of eating disorder references, and detailed analysis of exactly the treatment. People just do not understand how horrible what has happened to this child is.

According to the article, "having a think on this" also translates to "restrict the diet to brown rice only" (not that it would happen anyway, but that's the solution that was printed). How can our whole species fail so stupidly to intuit/learn anything about the most basic of biological functions?

Poor kid. Even if they did a complete turnaround to all healthy foods in sensible portions, he'll probably still die young of a heart attack.

I do not know any other way to stop him from gaining more weight than to give him less food.
No shit, Sherlock. HAES

This kid weighs more than my 10 year old, and my 9 year old, me and my wife combined.
[–] ScottRockview ago
190 kilos = 423 lbs. 423 fucking lbs. With forced rounding UP to the next 10 lbs, I weigh 160, my wife 120, my kids 60 each. The four of us would not tip a scale with this one kid on the other side. WHAT IN THE HOLY FUCK.

From the video "the doctor said he was healthy" boom #haes like wtf is the standard for healthy. not dead != healthy

If you aren't going to die in the next 10 minutes you are as healthy as a triathlete.

Was thinking that too. He may be physically incapable of feeling full.

Welcome to 2016: where allowing your child to walk to school unsupervised is considered child abuse, but feeding them until they blow up like a balloon is not.
[–] ThinBlondeBeast 0 points 13 points 13 points (+13|-0) ago
He can't walk unsupervised if he can't walk.

Being light enough to be picked up is a prereqreset for being kidnapped.
[–] Shitlord2016 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
I mean I guess not having to worry about your child being kidnapped is better than worrying about him having a heart attack at 12. /s
