Rolling release OS updates have improved greatly but software on them tends to be buggy and inconsistent. I like to choose when my software updates and if its an offered update I prefer a well tested one rather than bleeding edge.

Rolling release isn't for everyone; some people like to be more in control of software updates and like manually going through changes before hitting [y].

In my experience, rolling release systems take a lot more effort to stay on top of the update process and are more likely to have big parts of the system suddenly break because important packages update at different times and not as much work is put into making sure they all work together afterward.
Every rolling release system I've had gradually became less and less stable over months. Maybe that just means I'm not good at managing rolling release systems, but that still means they're just not right for me.
