20 bucks at the farmer's market: One 10lb watermelon (have half to my SIL for 6 yellow squash) 5lb of peaches, 3 tomatoes, 1 huuuuge zucchini, 6 ears of corn, 20 small red potatoes, 3 yellow onions, Enough green beans for me, husband, and three toddlers to have them as a side for 2 meals. Please, tell me again how exspensive it is to buy fresh fruits and vegetables. Looks like they just want excuses to eat shitty food all the time.

People on welfare should be given food instead of money. Maybe the fat hillbillies will lose some weight and not have to get a tax payer funded scootypuff.

I'm almost certain that when repubs talk about lazy people on welfare, they're calling out the hams who've disabled themselves, but too afraid to say it, since you pretty much need kids you can't take care of to get any other assistance (which come on they're innocent kids). And they do automatically qualify for SNAPS on top of it and fucking medicaid. While anyone working full-time hours min wage qualifies for 0 federal welfare programs when single, other than perhaps a few subsidized apartments. It's fucking absurd that they're "disabled," but homeless drug addicts are criminals who deserve their basic human rights taken away.

I would like to know more about these banana snack cakes....

I just stuck my last two over-rip nanners in the freezer so I can have faux ice cream tomorrow. I picked up 2lbs of bananas for a buck so like 25 cents for ice cream.

frozen broccoli is like a dollar for a bag when it's on sale too. plus you could just buy seeds which are practically free and grow your own food. it's not that hard

So on me of our side missions with the ffb project was keeping track of various benefits. One of which is how much he was spending on food. Now he does spend about 60 a week on food currently, however this is because he is eating straight grass fed fatty beef for every meal. He was spending 80 plus on normal groceries each week. And then about ten dollars a day on junk food. Which means overall he has saved up about 400 dollars to date in the past month alone. Also not counting going out costs since he would sometimes go out every night and sometimes stay home for a month. Difference on cigarettes and vaping is about 100 dollars this past month since he already owned the equipment. The money he saves is going to some marcy diamond home gym thing

He has a bench, rack, and weights etc. He just wants this in the future for more advanced stuff, i personally don't care either way, I'll use it if he gets it, and it's his money in the end

I lived out of town while working last summer. Instead of buying groceries for the family, it was just me. $65-70 per week bought three meals a day for 7 days. I bought: chicken thighs, pork spare ribs, sirloin and eggs for protein and onions, garlic, potato, carrot, broccoli, cauliflower, haricot vert, tomatoes, corn, chilies and banana. The expensive items were strawberries, apples, nectarines, herbs and whole wheat bread and chicken stock. Staples like rice, olive oil and flour weren't bought every week so the cost is spread out even more. I ate like a king and my house mate was spending ~$250 a week on take out and frozen shit.

Fuck these idiots

My favorite was the fat on fattit who said it was expensive to find, "healthy, organic fresh food." Someone pointed out those were three different things and the fat absolutely could not comprehend it.

Fats don't know what's healthy, and they have no concept of real food prices because they never buy them.

this is something I don't understand. My mom got about $5/600 a month in food stamps for herself and 3 kids. She always ran out and the house was stocked with crap food. She acted like we were so poor and hungry (with 3 out of 4 of us obese) I spend $250 a month for all of our needs(toilet paper, diapers, baby food etc) and food for us. And it's not all rice and beans either.

How many obeasts truly live in real food deserts? <5%? It can't be that many. Good luck trying to explain to obeasts that it is actually cheaper to eat healthy foods, they love the healthy food is for rich people myth and will take that belief to the (early) grave.
