The news out of India today: Lightning strikes kill at least 90 in India

"In 2014, 2,582 people died in lightning strikes, according to the government, making lightning the leading killer among all natural disasters in India."

And just last month in neighboring Bangladesh: Lightning kills 81 people in two days in Bangladesh

I think the average is 40 deaths by lightning a year in the U.S. I guess the expression "You have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than winning the lottery" doesn't click with them.
