VR is a gimmick. Millennial techies and teenage geeks haven't caught on yet. That ambitious naivety of something "new" is too strong to resist. "It's going to change everything, it's the future!"
These VR companies are going to make bank on all of these impulsive early adopters, then they're just going to cancel production and say the demand just wasn't there. It will be very profitable if they keep the prices high and only produce a limited supply before the bubble bursts.
