Hell yes I do. If it means I die protecting my family, I am going to take every chance I get. That is why people are so afraid of the second amendment, you have to take responsibility of your security for yourself. The police are there to clean up and put together after action reporting.

Exactly. Fear is so involved in the anti 2nd mentality. Fear of guns, fear of violence, fear of responsibility for you and yours when violence occurs, as you pointed out. I get that. Guns are scary. Ive been out shooting targets and someone mishandles a gun and it can give you that quickened pulse just off a safety error. I've never been in a firefight but I imagine I'd be a shaky frightened mess. Why not give yourself a chance? Follow to the conclusion that guns in an enemies hands are scary, but not as scary as being in the same situation but being helpless. Guns aren't going anywhere, the tech is out of the bag. A machine shop and knowledge can make very sophisticated firearms, ignoring whatever advances in 3d printing may come. People just need to accept that the world can be a scary place and no amount of wishful thinking and the policies that come with it can change that.
