I use to have two cats that eliminated every rat and mouse for the whole block. We still had lots of birds around. Since the two cats have passed, I now have rat and mice problems. I want to go to the county shelter and pick out another mouser, but how do you tell if the cat would do the job well?

I got 2 beast that keep my house rodent free and have definetly added IQ points to the local bird population. I want to get a protégé for them to rear in the ways of yard tigering.

Take a mouse to the shelter with you. Toss it into the cat room then adopt whoever kills it.

Probably best to wait until the staff is not looking.

Why did I laugh at this?

The felines of peace strike again.

My alpha cat once jumped on me in the middle of the night. I screamed at him to leave me the heck alone. In the morning, I found a bee stinger stuck in my thigh and my cat was sitting in the windowsill looking all reproachfully at me, and next to him was the biggest bee or wasp that I ever saw in my life.

Now the question is, was your cat trying to save you from the bee, or was it him that caught it and used it to stab you?
