As it only takes a single freak with a motive, an opportunity and the means and as mass shootings are still rare freak happenings (no matter how media hypes each happening), the president, his administration and his policies are pretty much irrelevant to the number and severity of mass shootings.

regardless it's a HELL of a correlation, and one that should get a lot more scrutiny than it does. I personally had no idea how relatively peaceful the presidential terms before obama were.

I have no idea. I'm just reporting. Correlation is not causation, but WTF are those numbers??

Didn't he, or one of his core staff, make "predictions" about lone wolf "terrorist attacks" that they "predicted" would occur, and they could use to promote policy?
That question is rhetorical. I'm just hoping someone more invested than me will find the relevant links.

It's the media. Glorify it 24/7 for a week until everyone knows the names and details. Some loser/wacko is depressed or who thinks no one listens, he sees a chance 'to show them all'. Obummer squeezes every tragedy as long as he can to push his agenda. Same with any other anti-gun. If no one had ever listened to what you had to say, you have no friends, then you see a way to make everyone listen. Make them regret ignoring you. Throw religion or drugs in that mix and you've got a mess. Just my thought.

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

The media...hopping on the internet.
This is just me but, these starting happening more often when he got elected after 2008.
After 2008, more and more people began hopping on the internet as it wasn't seen as a geeky loser thing anymore. As internet access became more readily available with the invention of the smartphone people were on the internet all the time. The media then hopped on that shit too.
So now the media is running 24/7 news cycles on tv, in the paper, and now on the fucking internet.
Or it could be something else...for example I saw something a while ago talking about female leaders in Europe and historically their countries were involved in more wars than ones with kings, I believe the take away from that was these nations with queens were seen as weak so they were attacked more.
Perhaps people can smell a weak leader thousands of miles away...but I think its the internet/media combo.
