Just came here from there, I may start transitioning to voat full time based on the censorship. Reddit does still have more people and comments for my smaller subs though.

Downvote restrictions. A lot of people cry about it and leave Voat. Not to mention people speak freely here, which scares away a lot of the people who would shit this place up.

A few things: modlogs that are constantly visible; a limit on the number of subverses you can run (10, with 3 or less 'default' subverses on your list); a CCP requirement to even request a moderator position; admins who step in to remove 'default' moderators who have gone too far (rather than just the occasional 'remove subreddit from default list, only to add 5 others that are equally bad'); users who keep an eye on any accounts known to belong to powermods from Reddit (like HenryCorp); etc.
In the end, it is theoretically possible that they could still get through, but it would take a lot more time, planning, and subterfuge than it took on Reddit. I don't think that the people behind the powermod accounts are anywhere close to being smart enough to pull such a deceit off. Over there, the admins just loudly whistled and walked away from their computer whenever the site got up in arms about powermods or toxic subreddits that the admins liked. Here, there is currently only a very small userbase that even tries to defend moderators that have gone too far.

No, there's nothing stopping them right now. The downvoat restrictions can be abused against users, for example, a group can target one user and effectively silence them by taking their voats down to a very low number.
That and right now there's a massive circlejerk on voat, going against the jerk will get you mass downvoated across all of your comments. Voat is just another Reddit right now.
Techius
"Dieing" If you are dieing something, you are cutting or stamping it with a die, which is a device used for cutting, forming, or engraving metals. OR "Die cutting" is the process of using a die to shear webs of low-strength materials, such as rubber, fiber, foil, cloth, paper, corrugated fiberboard, paperboard, plastics, pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, foam and sheet metal.
As in self inflicted....................sorry it went over your pointed head.

I put off immigrating to Voat because all the comments I read praising it made it look like it was a honey pot of some kind. Now I don't even care. I'd rather be arrested for what I have to say than not be able to say it at all

You sure? Since our /v/all is nothing but Hillary Clinton and circlejerk, seems to be the same.
