There was very legitimate discussion in the comments, it was all either one sided or a big circle jerk of the same jokes on every page that just went on and on and on. At least here people have discussions and back it up with facts. I am always open to changing my beliefs if someone can present good facts and knowledge to the contrary.

I use both, but after reddit banned r/coontown I saw voat talked about a lot on Reddit and a few months later came over here just to see what was up and check it out. I like it here, I like the culture of free speech on here and even though I'm not crazy about a few of the overly sensitive conservatives who downvote everything that hurts their feelings while they circle jerk in their safe spaces (it's only a few of them), I do like a lot of the users I have talked to on here and have had a mostly positive experience. I do wish there was more apolitical content on voat. Either way, I still use reddit, but I'm not planning on leaving voat anytime in the future.

I didn't really move from Reddit to Voat. After the whole Ellen Pao shitfest I heard of Voat so I figured why not. Personally, I like Voat's "free" atmosphere. Now I visit Voat exclusively while I am at work because Reddit just got banned and what else am I going to brown while I eat my lunch. Also I love fat people hate, I find it hilarious.
