I'm sorry, but they deserve the ticket. A nature preserve is not a park or a playground. It's a nature preserve. It was established to preserve nature, hence the name. If your kids want to swim, take them to a place where it's allowed. Public pools are all over. If you don't like/want to swim in pools, there are an abundance of creeks and rivers that allow swimming and fishing. Go to any one of those.
