I'm sorry, but they deserve the ticket. A nature preserve is not a park or a playground. It's a nature preserve. It was established to preserve nature, hence the name. If your kids want to swim, take them to a place where it's allowed. Public pools are all over. If you don't like/want to swim in pools, there are an abundance of creeks and rivers that allow swimming and fishing. Go to any one of those.

I am amused that a website called "tree hugger" doesn't understand what a Nature Preserve is for.
There are a shit ton of trails, creeks, valleys and mountains I can trample all over. But when it comes to nature preserves, I have to stay on trail.
