I live in Colorado. It took me SIX MONTHS and countless hours of phone calls to even finally get setup for my health insurance. "Connect for health colorado" is literally the most incompetent institution I have ever dealt with.

A state reaps what they sow. They also generated $70 million in marijuana tax revenue in 2015

This is contradictory?

You bet it is. Main point being is why do we let the Feds control what the states can take care for themselves ? I'm all for legalization and the tax revenue it generates. CO is, just by the marijuana tax, closing in on $1 million for each uninsured person.

Hopefully Americans start waking up and realizing that big government doesn't fix problems, it only creates new ones.

Right, what number of Coloradans were without coverage? Do you think it was fewer than 91k?

The article didn't say 100K left without insurance (or at least, it said something else once you read it). A few companies have pulled or change their coverage offerings within the state. Market forces are driving supply and demand. The number is 92K, BTW, not 100K. I guess you cannot trust a media outlet to round correctly. Anyway, there's still plenty of time for anyone to stay insured for 2017. This article is full of disjointed quotes sprinkled into rather over the top editorial commentary. Many of the quotes don't even agree with the commentary to which they are juxtaposed.

Your comment has buzzwords, but no content.

Nah I think you're getting confused by the big words, is all. Here, lemme break it down fer ya:

  • This article doesn't agree with itself
  • This article does not use math well
  • Everybody still has lots of time to get insurance

That help?

Obama's 2009 Health Care Speech

Now, if you're one of the tens of millions of Americans who don't currently have health insurance, the second part of this plan will finally offer you quality, affordable choices. (Applause.) If you lose your job or you change your job, you'll be able to get coverage. If you strike out on your own and start a small business, you'll be able to get coverage. We'll do this by creating a new insurance exchange -- a marketplace where individuals and small businesses will be able to shop for health insurance at competitive prices. Insurance companies will have an incentive to participate in this exchange because it lets them compete for millions of new customers. As one big group, these customers will have greater leverage to bargain with the insurance companies for better prices and quality coverage.

How's that working out for you?

As a healthy individual who never goes to the doctor in Colorado, very poorly. I pay $158 a month and have a $5000 deductible and that is the cheapest plan I could get.....

I don't see how it's legal for the government to force you to give your money to health insurance companies.

Damn, I thought mine was bad. I think I have to hit $3,800 in a year out of pocket in their network (January to December) before they start to pay. If I get seriously injured or sick, I hope it's at the beginning of the year.
