They're also no longer allowed to consume food or drink per the same councilman, who fears their slide into islamic terrorism.

COVENTRY, R.I. (AP) — Firefighters in Coventry say they're being asked to remove U.S. flags from their fire trucks.
The firefighters say it started last year when Central Coventry Fire District Chairman Fred Gralinski likened their display of the flags on the back of the trucks to something the Islamic State group would do.
Gralinski apologized Thursday, saying he chose his words poorly.
David Gorman, president of the firefighters' union local, says the district board recently adopted a policy that the fire chief must approve any stickers or decals applied on the trucks.
He says the policy made no mention of flags, but he says he's still being asked in private to remove them.
Gralinski says there's no order to remove the flags.
Remove the flags. Put bigger ones up. Give this guy the bird. Fuck ISIS.

As a firefighter, I've always thought having actual flags fly from the back of the truck was pretty impractical. I've never been hugely patriotic or religious, either. But to camp are them to ISIS is unfair. If they are that proud of America, let them do it. They've kept less practical stuff before.

If they are that proud of America, let them do it.
The first thought that came to my mind was that ISIS is simply doing it for the same reason they are: pride in their country. Sure, ISIS is something to be detested from our point of view, but so is the US in theirs; flying flags out of pride is just one of the few things we both happen to agree on.

Which is kinda stupid because warriors have gone to battle flying the flag of their nation almost since ever.
