If she cares so much about women why was she paying them less than men?

I don't think she was, she just gave all the women a raise because of muh oppression.

I got about 30 seconds total of that video, after skipping to the point. Completely bullshit.

I wonder how many of the male employees have bailed by now.

Think about it. If you're male, why work your ass off in such a company, if half your raise goes to the woman next to you just because she's female.

No problem. Give it to them. If women were really underpaid, then surely everyone would be hiring women, because they're cheaper! All the companies with only women should be doing way better because their labor costs are lower!

But on the other hand, if they're actually paid fairly, then what are the odds this company is going to get away scott-free? Presumably, non-sexist competitors would be able to underbid on contracts, unless the women's pay is coming from men's pay, in which case the best male workers will obviously end up working for those companies, allowing the competition to clean up.

So let's just wait and see.

This might braking a couple of laws though. Specifically the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the Equality Act 2010.

But I think it would need a male employee to complain for something to be done.

Great point!

That would be amazing.

Some actress I've never heard of before had to "fight" to get the same pay rate as a well known, highly regarded, and very well accomplished actor.

I always feel bad for Hollywood actresses and CEOS and the like. When I wake up at 4am to head to work for 16 hours, the first thing I'm thinking is "It's so wrong that someone who makes more in a year than I'll make in my entire career of doing this might make a few percentage points less because of something out of their control! I really should use my time off to advocate for those poor, underprivileged people!"

Oh man, don't forget about the poor poor pitiful poor rappers either. I'm sure all those millions and millions of dollars they're making from rapping about making millions and millions of dollars pales is comparison to all my $10 an hour white privilege.
