I never had much regard for Hatred as it was just another twinstick shooter - until I saw some gameplay of it. It looks pretty decent, if a little pointless/repetitive - but the detailed destruction modelling and simplistic monochrome with coloured highlights (fire, police lights, etc) aesthetic works quite well.
The only criticisms that I really have from seeing the footage is that the level design is somewhat counter-intuitive (seriously, who would design those house layouts in real life like that?), often leading to being trapped in corridors by several "human shields" (Police officers), and that the AI itself is somewhat clunky, and could deal with a little polish. Finally, the instakill "tap the moving vehicle and you die" design can frustrate quite easily, and really needs some work.
Personally I don't think I will buy it - not out of principal or "MUH TRIGGURS", but that it just doesn't hold my interest beyond the destructibility of the world.
I wasn't interested in the game in the first place, but it looks even less interesting now. It looks like it would get boring pretty quickly, and I'm not a fan of the art style.
It only got attention because of gaming sites being outraged over it, when in reality it's not any worse than GTA 5. Otherwise, it would have just been another indie game released on Steam, which IMO is what it should be, because it doesn't seem like it's anything special.

It doesn't seem special and I feel like they wanted negative attention for the game so people would be hyped to play it. In reality I'll probably get bored quickly but I'm excited to play it since I've been dying to revisit Man Hunt and I guess this will have to do.

It doesn't look like it deserves the frothing reaction it got. I'll get it if it goes cheaper. But I don't think I'd pay full price. Maybe if there was a Steam sale or something.

The gameplay seemed pretty lackluster based on what I saw on TotalBiscuit's video. I wasn't planning on picking it up anyway, but I might have been interested had it turned out to be a fun game. The game shouldn't have been targeted so much by the media, though that's likely what the devs wanted. Anyway, most people will forget about it in a few months. Meh.

I am utterly disgusted by this game.
ESRB should ban it, this is purely male oppression at it finest. A real snuff game.

I am excited for the game. I am not going to pay attention to any sites and the "reviews" they post. I'll pick the game up myself, I can't see a reason why it would suck.
Just because some "reporters" are freaking out over it, while we have games that allow people to kill hundreds of people in a much more realistic fashion.
I think it'll be fun to play, and if it isn't. It will at least be interesting to play. I'll post my review if I end up liking it enough too, or hating it enough.

To be fair, the hype is more of a "I want it because everyone doesn't want me to have it"
Just as a child suddenly has to have the thing an adult has told him he cannot have. If the media just said it was a mediocre top-down shooter with repetitive gameplay people would just make their own minds up.

I'm not particularly found of Hatred, however I do like how it is pushing the industry towards accepting AO games (twitch be excluded). Gaming is a powerful form of media and it should be not censored to appease a vocal minority of the population.
