I would, but I use maps too much. Besides, I wouldn't trust Google to actually stop tracking me if they really wanted to.

Me. But I know Google and the NSA track me through a billion and a half other means regardless.

This is like committing Voat suicide among certain groups (hi /v/conspiracy!) but I really don't give a shit if Google tracks me. In fact, it makes my life significantly better if Google tracks me - I get on-the-fly traffic reports based on my GPS location, nearby restaurant recommendations based on my search history, and all my data and contacts are backed up on the Google cloud service.
And what are the cons? Google might, what, sell my fingerprint to the Skynet AI when the machines take over? Sorry I left my tinfoil hat at home.

Location is only on for directions and sharing my coordinates (when someone wants directions to my location)... the drop pin thing.
Google stores your location history when location services are used. Turn it off here:
Settings, Google, Personal info & privacy, Activity controls.

Yeah I turned that off long ago. It's just a little unsettling. It turns on automatically when my phone hits 15% or less so that I can check it's last location of it's lost or whatever. Which isn't such a bad idea.
