Yes, you're exactly right. SS is a socialist program.

The govt instituting it is not Socialism.

BERN victims advocate large scale Socialism.

Just as well, the linchpin for entitlement programs is wether you're actually entitled to them.

Serve the country risking your life for literally everyone else = you deserve shit.

Graduated high school and want to attend extended education to find a better job for literally yourself/your family = you do not deserve shit. Best of luck to you, but still = you do not deserve free shit.

... they worked for 30+ years to get that check. Berny just wants to give people money away for free. Fuck that. Work for it.

social security is a negative investment as they dont invest any of the money and just let it sit. you would be better off getting a .01% return letting it sit in a bank as the value of money depreciates over time. that's how incompetent the government is

all taxes are theft. you owe nothing to anyone but yourself

They don't let social security money "sit." They spend it on interest payments to service the national debt which they increase the principle of in order to write social security checks.

If they did just let the money sit then the whole program would be comparably more solvent than it is now.

I hate Social Security and Medicare. There are 1.5 times as many retirees per worker today as there were 50 years ago and we all have to work harder to take care of those lazy SOBs because of it. Retirees are responsible for more wage stagnation than the increase in wealth disparity.

If I wasnt forced to put money into a ponzi scheme like SS, i wouldn't.

Why not be like Chile in this regard? Require a certain % be invested in an approved vehicle? Then the government cant use the "Trust" as a slush fund?

Except that it makes more sense to invest in future workers than people who will never work again. Workers' wages haven't risen in 45 years while the number of retirees per worker is about 1.5x as high as it was 45 years ago. And old people bitch about young people going glbt and not having kids when our generation can't fucking afford kids because we're paying people to change grandma's diapers instead.

Not that I disagree, but vet/OAP welfare is still a socialist policy, people are just so used to it that they no longer notice it.

Exactly. Canadian here with a buddy in the reserve army. It's a social program for people who can't get their shit together and live in the real world. He's as conservative as they come. The irony is lost on him.

Let the berniebros give all of their paycheck to a Jew who recklessly spends it only to lose. 200 Million and you cannot even get ahead of Hillary. What in the fuck are you doing, Bernie?

If you oppose socialism, you should oppose social security. It is not necessarily hypocritical to accept the check after a lifetime of paying into the system, but supporting socialism for yourself and not for another person is.
