My only suggestion is to rabbet the inside of the box at the top, and do a matching rabbet (parity-wise) on the underside of the lid so that is locks in place. Looks well made in general.

Yeah, the piece I glued to the inside made a pretend rabbet, and it doesn't really match. I did the rabbet for the bottom, and once I did the edge profile for the top, they kinda matched in thickness. If I were to build the same box again, I'll use a slightly thicker piece on for the lid.

Great work with the joinery, I don't see any gaps at all.

What's next for you?

Thanks, the joints are super tight, maybe too tight. Thankfully basswood is forgiving and compressible. I'm still working on the perfect setup for the Incra ibox.

This week I made a store display shelf for a lady that makes handmade soaps. And a drawer organizer for my girlfriend's aunt. http://imgur.com/a/8mKEg

Next in the pipeline is some bookshelves for a middle school classroom, a wall mount skateboard rack and some other little stuff, probably more small boxes.
