I usually avoid using "because" all together. It seems pointless to me. You say something, and you explain your reasoning. That's how we communicate. To say "because" means to signal you're about to explain your reasoning. Well you're going to do that anyway. You can't have a thesis with no reason why you believe it.
That's just me.

whats worse is "an" instead of "and".
I saw it like five times yesterday on voat. I believe its just stupidity. I dont think they are too lazy to type the letter D, i just really dont think they know the difference between the words.

It's just an informal way of writing, I wouldn't think someone's stupid for using "cause" or even "cos" instead of "because" on a Facebook status or something. I would if it was in an essay, though.
