He pawns a lot of these touchy social issues off on states...which is probably fine since the federal government intervening in either direction would be a big overreach. I can see a state like California which probably has a higher concentration of these sorts of people allowing it while Arkansas would say no and that's just fine.

This is exactly what the president should say, he is following the constitution. By letting State governments deal with subjects like this it gives citizens a voice and ability to protest stupid laws, instead of forcing top down Federal Mandates that citizens have no say about and cannot even go protest against.

So what are the elites trying to coverup this week? Nothing has changed in this issue since three weeks ago when it was heated, so why announce now? Something must be going on that's serious they don't want the press picking up on...

All sorts of scandalous shit involving campaign and foundation contributions from the middle east are happening, maybe that's it?

Why even states? At best, it should be a school district issue, but there must be so few students actually concerned about this that even a school-by-school decision process is reasonable.

They can suggest Public Schools on this "issue" and cannot enforce it when they refuse.
[–] Iceman3187 ago
If they refuse, the Obama administration sues the district and restricts federal funding.

Sorry to say this "rule" is not enforceable only by blackmail of said State that have the right to not comply.

Just like North Carolina? They bowed out to that yesterday. Temporarily, while a federal lawsuit is put in place, but they bowed out none the less.
