I can't see this game being massively adopted. There's something about Sandbox MMOs that end up killing them in the end. I think a developer needs to pick apart World of Warcraft for everything it was at it's peak and try to recreate that with a more robust model.
WoW did pretty much everything right early on.
I only say this because, even though WoW may have lost 8-9 million subs over the last 2-4 years It's still the most subscribed MMO in the world. That means it's doing something right.
