Then they cry about the admin limiting their free speech. I guess they could complain about this too. We currently have one main guy dealing with everything site wide so it can get kinda tough on him. That part of it is imperfect, not sure how he will deal with the site getting more traffic, I unfortunately am not totally in the know.

I am gonna reply to your other comment here too, even if it was just him, more like him will come and abuse that system. The user, I am aware of him, and the only subs that had that high downvote thing were his, so doing it was more to limit him. I am not sure of other subs that have that limit, I guess they could exist. They could easily change their system to allow downvoting if they wanted to be seen on /v/all

Just like Reddits /all is not an accurate measure of all their subs, I guess in a different way Voats are not either.

as i see it, a toxic individual complaining about "their free speech" isn't so much of an issue as restricting the entire userbase.

I hope atko finds some good help. its a big job for one guy.

so i guess as things are now, subs like his would mess up /all/new? sigh. i don't see a clean solution that doesn't involve direct admin management or affecting /all/hot

I mean, I don't see how it restricts the whole userbase. If you want to involved, don't mess with the most basic feature of upvotes/downvotes. I just don't see why that is too much to ask, let people show that they want to/dont want to see whatever you are posting.

There was his subs messing with /new, and then people going around the total submissions in an hour to post more crap to /new. Basically, there has been a few things I have seen in /new that mess with it.

It is pretty complex situation, that is for sure.
