I re-watched Escape from LA last night. It's cheesy as hell but it's entertaining and fun. Hard to believe I saw it in theaters 20 years ago....

i've never seen it but i've seen interviews where he talks about how poorly recieved it was and having to deal with that failure

'It Happens Every Spring'
I like to watch one of the classics now and then. Reminds you what quality films should feel like.

Saw "Heart of the Sea" last night. I was impressed. I can not think of a film that made me ponder how good it was for some time. I see so many films so frequently it's as if I wipe them from memory to make room for the new. Im sure there was a really good one I just can not recall. The Force Awakens comes to mind but that was more for finishing the story.

ahh i didn't like 'heart of the sea' and so many people i knew recommended it to me. i felt bored the whole movie, and it was hard for me to get past the fact it was chris hemsworth playing a character. it just didn't seem believable to me that him and his 'model' wife would have such perfect teeth in 1820

Funny, I was watching it reluctantly. So my expectations were already low. My interest was in the Herman Melville story. Yes Helmsworth was very consistent in this. I suspect I was looking around that because I expected it. Many of your reasons are spot on.
Have any suggestions?
