Look for vintage if you like boho. I found a really nice dress that could easily be a wedding dress for 70 bucks. They can't sell the vintage stuff as easily because everyone's getting fatter.

Thanks for the tip! I've looked a bit on Etsy, but I'm kind of afraid I'll end up with a disreputable seller...do you have any favorites, or other places you'd advise looking?

I actually make clothes for a living (not so much into wedding dresses but ive done separates before), Honestly your best bet is to go onto EBAY- narrow it down to stuff that is only in your country, and just pay really close attention to the photos, if it looks modeled and something that you see in a facebook ad, it probably is. Are you looking for more of a boho look? i might be able to narrow down a couple of sellers in particular i like.

I'm 32e myself so am familiar with your bust problem - I'd be really hesitant about buying a strapless dress off the rack and expecting it to look good enough in pictures. Lots of places these days just work in total bust measurement rather than cup plus back tailoring. This isn't a problem if you're wearing something stretchy, but with seams and intricate tailoring you've got a problem. This is where you get the cups overflowing but baggy in the back problem, which is largely due to fats with the the same total measurement around the bust but a completely different shape. (I.e. Back fat plus pancake tits). I have a suspicion you may run into that problem in Modcloth, thanks to their fat customers fucking up normal measurements. Anyway, if you love the dress (it's great!) my suggestion would be to buy a size up and pay to have it professionally tailored to account for all weird possibilities. It will cost you probably around $100 (depends where you live - probably less) but will look like it was made for you and way more expensive in photos.

Congrats on the engagement!

Thank you so much, sounds like great advice! I am definitely going to look into finding a local tailor - have a feeling I'll need one ordering any dress online, unless I get really lucky.

FWIW, I've bought 2 dresses from mod cloth and they are extremely well made, worth the money. Here's a pic of my daughter in one: Modcloth dress

I agree, the cow complaining probably needs a crane to support her chest.

The vanity sizing on modcloth is outrageous. I bought an adorable dress in a large, to make sure my chest would be covered and it wouldn't be short. It arrives and it literally fits like a garbage bag. The arms are so wide you can see my bra and sideboob. The waistline falls below my hips. Again I'm 6'1 and built accordingly. So disappointed

There are so many hams online leaving reviews. Most the time the reviews are negative stating how horrible the clothing is when in reality it just looks like shit on hams because clothing is not made for galaxies so of course it will look horrible and it is not the products fault. Congrats on your elopement :)

Yeah, they fuck up everything. So disgusting, like I want to see their gross photos in the review section!?? Just because nobody wants to see them irl they think humans have different taste online or something :/

Check out Adrianna Papell. They have some really pretty beaded and flowy dresses if that's your thing. The quality is quite good as well. I've ordered many things from them. Sizing is accurate to their posted charts too. Don't forget to check their Sale Dresses section as well. Some really nice dresses for <$100.

I saw that dress when I was shopping the other day and it's gorgeous! I definitely vote yes on that dress because it's classically beautiful and simply but with that little pop of color.

http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/beach-poise-dress-in-peach I just bought this dress, but that might be too summery for the fall

http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/daybreak-diva-dress I also thought about this one, but it's a little too dressy for everyday wear (could be good for your elopement though!)

http://www.modcloth.com/shop/dresses/dear-fiery-dress-in-black this is nice and classy and would look great on a shitlady!
