Don't get your hopes up. They discussed permanence across many charge/discharge cycles, but this kind of performance is likely at the expense of other battery attributes like capacity, voltage, etc.
That's often the reason why these "amazing developments" aren't made widespread after they're discovered. It's still important to know HOW these things happen, because if we can figure out the effect then it's possible to find other, less terrible ways to get that effect.
