I think of my age, in my head. Then I use that as a starting point to make comparisons against all of my former life. Something like "I'm 31 years old. One month ago, I was _____. One year ago, I was _____. Since then, I've changed my mind about _____. ____ and _____ are no longer important people in my life, but _____ and _____ have become very close."

It gives me perspective on where I've been and how I got where I am. Helps me understand where I'm going.

Do you ever use this information to reform links with people from the past? Whenever I reach out to old friends I'm met with silence and indifference

No, If they are in your past that's where they should stay. If they liked you you would still be friends with them. Sometimes that time machine is better off left in the parking space.

No, not really. Usually, if I drifted from someone, I consider the reason we lost touch and just let it go. Mostly it's just logistics. That person or I have moved away, or got married, took a new job. I have plenty of people in my life who do want to talk to me, so I try to enjoy what I have today.

Do spiders get cancer?

Yes, yes, they do.

That's actually correct, or so says Google. For years I've been attempting to give spiders cancer, by blowing cigarette smoke at them. I never knew if it was effective until one day I googled it.

While I'm in my most vulnerable state.

Taking a nice shit. I get this feeling something might stab my ass mid shit. It ruins everything for me and makes me feel uncomfortable. Then I get angry at myself for thinking about it because I have to shit.

In parts of the metropolitan area I live in there are problems with sewer rats coming up the plumbing through the toilets. One unlucky couple found a group of sewer rats on their newborn baby nibbling on the poor kids nose and fingers. What if a rat came up the pipes and bite you on the taint?

I live in a really small town in Texas. So I don't think we have to worry about rats like that. I do worry about a wasp or some insect finding their way into the bowl. Haha

And did this post help come up with that name? Lol

At least you're not thinking about something more likely to happen. People throw away venomous snakes and they make their way through plumbing and curl up under the toilet rim and can come out and bite you

I actually check for that...

I lightly kick over the lid to make sure something isn't there. When I feel good about it I do the deed.

I imagine dying, not out of a desire to, but as a morbid curiosity. I imagine what it would be like to be in a head on collision, what exactly would happen if I were shoot in the head, what it would feel like to fall to my death, etc.

When I'm walking around and people stare at me, I sometimes wonder if I'm actually an escaped mental patient and people are looking at me strangely because I'm dressed like a lunatic and only look normal in my mind.

I overthink quite a bit.

I think the exact same thing occasionally

That's good. Well, it's not, but it's good to know I'm not the only one.

If you're bilingual, do you "think" in the language you're speaking to someone in a social conversation? If you're fluent in German (native) and English and you're speaking to someone in English, are you thinking to yourself in English, or are you thinking in German and translating to English?

Also, should I try weed? Would that calm me down enough to sleep a full eight hours? Maybe I should cut down on caffeine.

I've heard you always think in your native language (Which means deaf people will think in sign language/pictures)

Also you could try weed, but it's expensive and unreliable. I would look into your life style and seeing what changes you could make which would encourage a healthy sleep cycle.

I wonder what it would be like to wake up in a hospital bed but as my much younger self, finding out that I have dreamt my future while in a coma. Then I start to remember what stocks went big so that my younger self can invest money, and how would I earn the start up cash, and could I convince anyone to help me? And.....since I know that I would take a completely different career path, how would I ensure I'd still meet my current husband? And would we have the same kids? I really have spent a whole lot of time on this what-if.

Something that might interest you

also...

There was a really great story about a man who was knocked out and lived a full life in his mind. Had a wife, children and then was awoken by a lamp.

What if IRL everyone but you is a bot designed to make you don't realize that you are trapped in a imaginary world?

What if it's not even you who is trapped inside the imaginary world? You're just one of the bots that is designed to make someone else think they're not trapped, but the bots are designed so well that they've gained sentience.
